August Events in Northern California - CAR WEEK

For those in Northern California the "August car craziness" begins this
Sunday August 4th with the Nor Cal Vintage VW and Porsche Treffen. It's a long running show on the grass at Dave Brubeck Park 4202 Concord Blvd, Concord. Starts about 8am, with coffee and donuts, car admission is $25, walk-ins and passengers free. Spectator parking at Concord High School, next driveway. It is one of the best low-key events. Also the 356CAR group will be having a pizza lunch at noon, in Walnut Creek.

Then we move into "Car Week in Monterey". Kicking it off:
Saturday August 10th with the monthly 356 breakfast at the Black Bear Diner - 2450 n. Fremont St Monterey - 8:30 breakfast. Please RSVP to Steve Stiles; [email protected]

Monday; August 12th Porsche Classic Party at Monterey Porsche Free Tickets at Eventbrite - Be there early 3:00pm lot opens, they block off the street so look for the maps showing entry from north direction only, no Porsche SUVs? https://www.eventbrite.com/e/porsche-mo ... 1704418497

Tuesday August 13th 356 Porsche & friends Drive to Big Sur. Meet at 9:30-10 Starbucks Rio Rd, (CrossRoads Center) at Highway 1, Carmel. Tour will leave at 10:15 sharp, for casual drive to the River Inn for lunch. Arriving just before they open for 11:30 lunch on the lower deck. Afterwards a "beverage" in the river, chairs are placed in the river to enjoy the redwood forest. Dogs are welcome. This is a 356 CAR sponsored event, www.356CAR.org. All are welcome, driving a Porsche or not, in the past we have about 20 356s and 50 people.

Thursday August 15th. Baja Cantina on Carmel Valley Rd, will be hold their weekly Car Show/Party, Car Week brings out many more than normal, so plan on getting there by 3pm. Specials on food and beverages, The Money Band plays later on too. There is normally really crazy commute traffic on Carmel Valley Rd about 3pm till 5, plus there are a few other shows in Carmel/Pebble Beach, and the races at Laguna draws lots people so be prepared for delays.
