Rear script and light measurements

Hi,

My car had rear end damage a long long time ago (late 60s) and the license plate light is wrong and no script. I am finally going to correct light and script. I believe I saw a document on the tech talk side once with these measurements but cannot find them. Any assistance appreciated.

It is a 1952 build/1953 MY 1500 cab.

The 52 build only had a porsche script, no engine designation. The position of the shine down and script depends on where it was sold new. On US spec cars the light and script were mounted higher than on Euro cars.

The rear turn signals are also positioned higher on interim bumper cars

By the 15xxx series of cabriolets in late 1952, rear license plate light height had been standardized. Just a PORSCHE script above it. First known existing cab with engine script was 15111, though it could have started a little sooner 15081 only had PORSCHE.

So your cab had basically the same light/script layout as Jules' coupe pictured above, but very likely beehives instead. I believe beehives started sometime between cars 15064 and 15081. And if its the original nose on your car, then your tail likely had beehives as well.

Hi all,

Thanks for the replies. I have 15083. It is a Cab and COA as well as Kardex say it is 1500. Yes, I have double beehive taillights. Not sure which market it was built for. Kardex says Hoffmann/NY but first service on Kardex was Porsche, Salsberg. So European delivery? Military? IDK.
