Hello
I have a question for the experts.
I'm about to install the wire loom back into my car (356A from 1959 coupe).
Looking to the sketch:
- Are fuel line and brake line together in the separate upper channel (some do, some don't)?
- Same question for the 2 wire looms. Some say the single loom has to be under the upper channel?
Hope someone can help

I installed mine as per the above diagram except the battery cable. It was too tight to get it though with the main harness so it’s on the floor but on that side and strapped in with ties.
If you plan it correctly and check all clearances it’s not a problem. I cut my hands to pieces as it was and the front tunnel to the battery was the worst to install.
Good luck
Mark

Hi Jim
I know this article (a pity that part II is nowhere to find??)
Unfortunattely it doesn't mention if both harnesses should be in the upper channel.
Regarding the fuel and brake line there is not much info to find...
Hard lesson that you should take many many pictures when taking the car appart

I suppose that it might be a little better if the battery cable also ran through the channel, but we tried and couldn't get the battery cable in there too. The battery cable is tough and lies on the tunnel floor just fine. Wire tie it on the right to keep it away from the shift rod and the throttle pull wire, and your good to go. (BTW were you to go to 12v, you could use a smaller size battery cable which would be much easier to install. It might be interesting to see how small a battery cable you actually need.)
I put a temporary fuse, about 20A, between the ground strap and the - battery terminal when testing the new loom. Just don't test the starter with the fuse in line. You can test everything else without the possibility of smoke.

Hi Harlan
Everything will remain stock with my car, so everything on 6 Volt..
I will give it a try to place both wire looms in the top tunnel.
I assume the same goes for the brake and fuel lines on the other side??
Best regards
Bart

No problem with the brake and fuel lines.
