356 reg membership renewal

#1 Post by John Clarke »

I'm Trying (Very Trying)
My post on the main topic was answered but it seems to have been removed. Just want to renew and pay the due. But didn't take notes on how. So I now post here

Jay, I moved it to Registry Business. That section is for membership questions and announcements that don’t relate to the cars.

Thanks for that Mark.
Can't even find Registry Business. Shame as someone had replied to my post and told me how in steps to renew my membership. What can be more 356 than renewing their commitment to the 356 And their Club. Looks like I will be leaving then !!! ☹️ Very Sad Jay .
If you would stop messing with people's posts we could resolve the problem.

Jay--Is this the post you are referring too?
Hi Jay,

Click Registry Home > The Club > Membership > Join Us! > Already a member? Click here to login and renew your membership.

That should do it!

That will only work if you're within 60-days of your renewal date, otherwise, you get a pop-up saying you are already a member.

John,
Regarding the Registry Business topic, somehow I had inadvertently re-set the default for my Forum home page, as I couldn't find Registry Business either! Maybe yours is re-set also, so try this:
1) From the Registry homepage select 356 Talk Forum.

-
My default page was set to Site rather than 356 Talk.
-

-
Clicking on the upper dash mark adjacent to 356 Talk returns to the more familiar index page. Registry Business is second from the bottom of the topics.

When I close and reopen Talk, it returns to the full index page.

John,

There are several links that provide “automatic” searches of the forum. Many members commonly use the “New posts” link (green arrow on right) to show a list of topics with the latest posts…to catch up since the last visit. A similar but different option (green arrow on left) is “Active topics” which shows the topics with the most recent traffic.

If you click “Your posts” (red circle) you get a list of all of the posts you’ve made in reverse chronological order. Even if Mark moves your post to the correct forum, it will show up.

Finally, if you really have time on your hands, click “Unread Posts” (red arrow) and you’ll see every post you have not yet read (hiding all you have read previously).

Or click on Board Index at the upper left hand corner of the screen under the top horizonal line on the screen.

Clicking on Board Index will take you to whichever index you are defaulted to.

If you've somehow set your default to "Site" (like I had), it only shows the two topics for "Site" when you click Board Index: Q&A and Test Track; with "356Talk" faded out at the top.

Once you set your default index to "356Talk", clicking Board Index will open the full list of ten topics with the two "Site" topics at the bottom of the page.

Spencer----When you say "default" are you referencing the "Posts" under the "Forum Selection" not set to "All"?

Sorry, I'm not familiar with the "all" selection. For several days - maybe a week - I would only see the "site" topics when I opened the Talk Forum from the Registry home page. When John Clarke mentioned he couldn't find Registry Business, I started tinkering around trying to find the full index I was accustomed to seeing. When I use the term default I am only referring to whether your index is set to 356Talk or Site as described above. Maybe selected would be a better choice of words, but once it's set to 356Talk or Site, it returns to that index when you close and reopen the talk forum.

Spencer,
Not that I want to, but how do you set a “default?”
How do you even get to “Site?”
