Spare tire strap

#1 Post by Mike Vollmer »

What type of a spare tire strap did the Convertible D come with. The woven fabric type like the Speedster or leather like the Coupe.
Thanks Mike

I believe the answer is a bit more complicated as some Ds appeared to have the cloth strap - perhaps Porsche was using up old inventory? Here's a couple of photos of 86127 which was a very original, unrestored car. Note also the gray rubber under the hood handle.

I'll bet you're absolutely right; and the toolkit is likely worth more today than you paid for the car!
