356 Key

#1 Post by Gordon Zagar »

Hi gang,
New to the forum..bought a 57 356 and looking to get a second/spare key? Anyone now where I can get an E49 (as labeled) blank to have cut by a local locksmith? Many thanks! (looks like an old VW key)

Welcome Gordon! That is the famous 'one year only' Bosch key.

Long story about it here:

I have just purchased some spare keys from Tony Euganeo <Daskeyman@verizon.net> as my door key is starting to feel a little week. Amusingly I have the identical key for my 58A and I thought that it must be a copy of the original key. Turns out it is the original. The blank from Tony came with Porsche on it

I also have a 356A/ T1/1957. My lock was worn out as yours probably is! It has only been 66 years. You are welcome to call me during business hours central standard time and I will tell you what I did with my car. al zim 817-267-4451
