I believe the later B shifter parts can be swapped in if necessary, as long as you do the whole collection.
The single front mount replacement can be had from several sources, one of them being Zims.

Mine shifts great - I think Vic and Neil worked on mine.

Mine shifts as well as my 65. No complaints.

The twin mount was reintroduced (having been present on all Convertible Ds) at serial #87492 which was built in very early 1960. So the first 671 Drauz Roadsters had single mounts. They probably had all been built by late January 1960. The remainder of the Drauz Roadsters (87492 through 89010 equaling 1519 vehicles) were double mounts as well as all D'Ieteren built Roadsters. And my double mount shifts very smoothly.

Nice Roadster ,
Our early single mount shifts nice and is tight .
Replace the the moving shifter parts from the spring down to the guide plate and the guide ring/bushing for the peace pipe.
While the peace pipe is out look at the slots most likely worn , put some weld on the slots then dremel slots a hair bigger than the roll pin so the roll pin slides up and down in slots without slop.
Our car also has the one piece rubber coupler which luckily is in decent shape.

My 60 Roadster, with the single mount trans drives and shifts beautifully!! Just have to make sure the transmission seal does not leak, as it can eventually dissolve the single motor mounts rubber, requiring a rebuild or replacement. I replaced my motor mount when I acquired my Roadster a few decades ago and it remains in perfect condition.

Ditto on single mounts. If you've got a leak, chances are the rubber motor mount will have started to become gooey. I've been able to rebuild mine as is was still good enough to do so. Replacements are now available, but big bucks.

Roadsters are really great, I like them better than any other 356 model, but so many of them have been through the mill as they were the "cheap" Porsche back then and way too many raced.

Yep,
You have to replace that shaft seal if bad,
Rainer rebuilt our trans mount years ago as the leaky seal softened up the mount compound.
Also replaced the hockey stick with one Vic reinforced with weld as it was corroded in seal area.
The single mounts take a different hockey stick /shaft too.
