Long ago I knew an older woman from New Hampshire. Her accent sounded Maine to me, but I'm sure there are subtleties.

Anyway, once in a diner she ordered a "cabinet" but got a blank look from the waitress. Then she tried a different term (which I won't reveal just yet) but got the same reaction. What was she trying to order?

Nope. It was in a diner, so food not libation. (Clever guess, though.)

Ok, second clue. Getting nowhere ordering a "cabinet", she tried a term she pronounced as a "frapp".

Gordon Arnold wrote: Tue Jan 24, 2023 5:18 pm In addition to the above notes on registration, you also have the option for "antique" registration. This can often be less cost, but not always. It's a cool special plate, though.
Does having an Antique plate limit your driving like it does in Vermont..
 Thanks,

I have had my 64C registered in NH for almost 10 years and the only restriction I know of is that an antique plate cannot be used on a commercial vehicle.
Vanity antique plates are also available and my favorite is that may display a Year Of Manufacture (YOM) plate with a permit.

"Cabinet" or "frapp" (frappe') = milkshake.

Anybody who lived in New England knows that. They also know that wedges and Hogies are the same thing as is a Super Italian. They also know that no one lives in New Hampshire, they just freeze in the winter, swat mosquitoes in the summer, and puzzle at the leaf peepers and poison ivy collectors in the fall. What they call "mountains" are so low that there's a competition to climb all 50 of them in the same day. New Hampshire has a coast; it is 14 miles of rocks defended by creatures with huge claws. New Hampshire's motto is "Live Free or Die" after struggling for a while, all of them choose the second option.
Did you say you are moving there??

There is actually much to like about NH, but your post made me spit my coffee out with laughter! Perhaps you might have a new career on the horizon.

First thing everyone should do is Mt Washington in a 356, not so bad for the driver but with no guardrails the passenger is terrified, ask my wife!
