Coming To A City Near You 🤔😠
Hi All
Just Prepping to Return Our Old 4x4 back out to Spain again, when I read that lots of countries over here in Europe are introducing Low Emission Zones in the City's ! There are various schemes in the different Countries with various different classes of car emission groups. In the case of Spain this would exclude any Really Old Car from obtaining a screen emissions badge , so would Not be allowed to enter said City! Is this the start of eliminating our old cars from the roads? Our old Diesel 4x4 (2021) would not be issued with a screen badge so I assume that Our other Older Cars (356 etc)would also not be allowed ? I'm all for cleaning up our planet, but this seems like a Huge Cash Cow with the fines issued ! On our way across the continent we pass through or by major cities and towns so it would be impossible to drive very far ! If they introduce these extreme measures.
I do hope I'm wrong.
Regards Jay

California just banned commercial diesel trucks and buses made earlier than 2010 unless upgraded to clean idle I believe.

Does that just mean they shut off after a couple of minutes?

Just buy one of these and be hailed "Savior!" ... if travel time is of little value to you, and you don't need to tow something.John Clarke wrote: ↑Wed Jan 18, 2023 5:09 am AND Still Coming to a City or Town near You. 20 minute Cities !
WAKE UP !
"We towed 3100-, 5300-, and 7200-pound travel trailers with Ford’s electric truck and didn’t get very far from home."

I haven’t laid eyes in person on the new Ford truck, but the front end looks like the design team was influenced by the Edsel.

Personally, I would rather have this legend and cruise Highway One like this guy is doing!
That is, if I didn't have a 356!

Hey, modern EV is not that bad, bad is a 2012 Nissan Leaf with 50 miles range in the winter!
I am waiting for an ID Buzz ordered almost a year ago, they told me it will be finished in March-April though. Getting a BusBox for it as well, a few months ago I was almost regretting ordering the Buzz but discovered the Busbox and now I can't wait to take it for a (Weekend) spin.

Would not mind a Lightning with the 320 miles battery, if you need a truck the new RAM may be worth the wait though.

Yes Get It ;
All the vehicles that WILL qualify ! That is very nice for You. But can't afford one of these new ' Poison the Planet' battery trucks ! Preferring our Classic Old 4x4 but will it be given an exemption as a classic? Which defeats the object of A Clean Air Emission Zone. Still worry about our 'Dirty'
356 !

The good old professor made electric cars long before he put the badge on our petrol cars.

This "Watt" does look like a fun vehicle, it was about GBP 90K though (last time I asked)

Re: Coming To A City Near You 🤔😠
EV update: One week with my new ID.Buzz and I must say it is a great wagon. Driving it is so smooth and the response is really strong.
The EV car has come along way since 2012 (and my then 2011 Leaf with 85 km winter range) thats is for sure.
The Buzz feels great on the road but it is wide, I usually drive a VW T5 transporter van or the MB GL but the Buzz clock in a 2.20 meters with mirrors out. I have to shoehorn into my garage at home, have about 3" on each side.
I am a petrolhead but have to admit that these cars are the future if you want it or not. For daily transport year around this van has it all. The range, 300 km in the winter and maybe close to 400 km in the hot season is ok. In Norway you can drive the Buzz all up North, charging infrastructure is among the best in the world but for a fast trip south and down into Europe I guess I will have to pick a petrol car for a few more years.
67 years apart, I think the older guy will be around long after the Buzz is "recycled".
