Dear Team 356 Registry,

The Porsche 356 Registry along with members of the Southern Owners Group, Inc. are pleased to announce the 2023 Blowing Rock, North Carolina East Coast Holiday. Please join us at the Chetola Resort & Spa on September 21 – 24, 2023 to celebrate the 75th anniversary of the Porsche 356.

During this 3 day event, we will experience driving on the scenic Blue Ridge Parkway, touring the "Perry Car Barn", walking the Lakeside 356 Concour as well as bonus events riding the Tweetsie Railroad and shopping in the many Blowing Rock boutique shops.

Known as the “Crown of the Blue Ridge Mountains,” Blowing Rock, NC is widely regarded as one of the most charming North Carolina villages. The town of Blowing Rock was established in 1889 and sits astride the Eastern Continental Divide at an elevation of 4000 feet. Blowing Rock is the only full service town directly on the 469 mile Blue Ridge Parkway which links the Shenandoah Mountains to the north with the Great Smoky Mountains to the south.

Registration goes live February 15th, and we expect to fill up quickly.

The image above is of “The Blowing Rock,” for which the town is named. See the story below. Blowing Rock a quaint village nicely situated on the Blue Ridge Parkway with many attractions nearby. Scenic mountain roads are plentiful and provide fantastic routes for exercising our 356s. Grandfather Mountain at 5,946 feet is 20 minutes away and Mount Michell at 6,684 feet (the tallest peak east of the Mississippi River) is a little over an hour drive away. The town also has a dozen nice restaurants and many shops along Main Street that have been attracting visitors for over 130 years. Overall, it’s a great place to host an East Coast Holiday!

Your Blowing Rock 2023 East Coast planning team had a very productive meeting this past weekend. We reviewed the event locations and schedule. We made some revisions that allow for both shopping in historic Blowing Rock and drives on the Blue Ridge Parkway.

Registration goes live February 15th - all registrations are on-line digital using PayPal. If you do not have a PayPal account, we suggest you get one soon!

The “Trex 61 Roadster” was our 356 of choice for the test run on HWY 221 and the Blue Ridge Parkway.
