#1 Post by Hans Honold »

Search for 356 A Motor VIN 70345 dear 356 friends. I'm looking for a Porsche 356 A engine VIN 70345. The engine with 60 hp from 1958. I'm from Germany and I'm looking forward to further contacts to refine the search.

delivered 1958 to Hoffman, NY 1958 than sold - no history until 2009 - Than restored by California Porsche Restoration (CPR) sold 2012 or 1013 to Bend, Oregon with maching numbers. 2015 the car landed in Europ with an other engine. We can say the engine was removed between 2012-2015 in the area of Oregon. This is the car an BaT: https://bringatrailer.com/2012/12/18/ba ... cabriolet/

It’s surprising that it got separated that recently, well after interest in matching numbers had kicked in. It’s good that you know a city and state where it could be.

It's also surprising that none of the listings have any photos that show the engine number. California Porsche Restoration's website is defunct, and the links to the German Master Tech site in Bend Oregon are also broken. Not surprising for a 13 year old link. Are you in touch with German Master Tech?

CPR still has lots of cars on its website, but not as many as it used to, and not this car.

I contacted German Master Tech but got no answer. Maybe due to the fact that I ask from Germany. The same with CPR. The 356 is sold in fjord green. With webarchive I got some further informations but no pictures and as I said no answer from the companys.

Maybe you should open a new thread titled "looking for member in Bend Oregon", and find someone willing to stop by German Master Tech. Same for CPR. Sometimes an onsite visit is the only way to resolve a problem.
