Another Fun Tour, Big Sur Lighthouse
Thanks to Jack Vallenti and Steve Stiles for organizing a wonderful tour of the Big Sur Lighthouse. 27 of the 356 Monterey Bay group spent most of the day on the "rock'. For those who have never been on Highway #1 south of Monterey and Carmel it's a wonderful drive, about 30 minutes to the light station built in the late 1800s on top of a huge rock 360 feet above the ocean. We drove our 356s out to the parking lot, and hiked to the top. Steve really did a fantastic tour. Saw a pod or humpback whales feeding, and incredible views. Hope you enjoy the photos.

A few more, the iron staircase was interesting each segment is bolted together to go up to the light room, 1890s, and still there today

You have no idea how interesting it was plus the views, living near the ocean we sometimes become used to it and to see the Big Sur Coast from the top of the rock made me appreciate it all over again. The lighthouse has always been one of the places on my list to someday visit since the mid-60s. Checked off, now maybe can do another one soon.
