Interior Inquiry

#1 Post by Carlos Cendejas »

Hello everyone. I recently got a Porsche 356 passed down and I am trying to figure out what the original interior looks like. I’ve tried google and other sources but have not been able to find much.

The interior on the Certificate says its “Houndstooth Check Fabric” If anyone knows please send a picture! Thank you in advance!!

Welcome, Carlos! If you Google "houndstooth check" you'll see pictures of the material.

Thanks Mike! I have seen what the fabric looks like, however, I haven't seen it on a 356, I was wondering how it looks on the car. Maybe somebody here has one with it!

I think it’s an acquired taste, not so great until you get used to it. Then it looks fine.

I have seen it on some 356's. As Martin, said, it's a matter of taste. On your car, it appears someone special ordered it. I'm trying to imagine Irish green with black leatherette (vinyl) with houndstooth inserts. There might be some pics of that combination on line somewhere.

Google "356 Porsche with houndstooth seats". There are some pics but not with Irish green but at least black seats with the houndstooth inserts.

Carlos,
I have seen 911's and 912's Irish green with Houndstooth inserts, it is a great color combination.
I agree with Mike, it was probably a special order, someone had a good eye.
There are many combos of Houndstooth, Black and white and Pepita (off white and black) were the most popular.
Post pics when you get the seat done!
