A couple of years on I’ve finally finished up my valves. Luckily I’m not a concours guy so I can keep the brass rivets unpainted.

I noticed the original attaching nuts and washers from under the car, I’d assumed they were original, as I’ve had the car since it was only 12 years old and they were covered in hard undercoating, large washers with 8mm holes, and self locking nuts. Both seem unlikely to be original. Anyone ever noted what was there?

I rebuilt a couple of sets for my cars 2 years ago. I had to replace the foam. The rivets are solid brass eyelets. I drilled them out, and installed new eyelets. I wrote up everything in my newsletter, that can be found on Facebook/raceofficials You may have to scroll down a bit. When I am done restoring my fleet of Porsches, I should edit my hundreds of relevant articles for use by the Registry.
