overhead valve, roller rocker for roller cam pushrod activated. my dyno is only good for 30 Mkp so final output not measured.

Jacques, is that a hydraulic PTO off the back ?
or a very fancy oil pump to pump oil to an oil cooler ??
and what sort of HP would that vefry fine looking engine be puting out ?

Hi Jim
it's a multistage dry sump pump. the engine was putting out more than 200 ftlbs of torque more than my brake could hold.

we had to go to a 228mm pressure plate and 12volt ring gear like the 912. the absent flywheel won't fit into a stock transmission without modification. even a 901 trans is not capable of handling all the torque this engine can put out.

How does it make so much torque? Is it far bigger than 1.6l? I’d think the case might not put up with it for very long

oh, about twice the displacement but the replacement case halves and internal components are good for 900Hp. This was just an exercise in preserving the "Original" engine and utilizing well-designed components instead of upgrading a 34hp consumer VW 1946 engine.
