Original Karosserie Reutter square wheel cover -black

#1 Post by Julien Rollier »

Hello,

I ordered and paid in April to Guido from REUTTER a nice accessory to hide the spare wheel.

file:///C:/Users/RJ/Desktop/REUTTER%20KAROSSERIE.html

The problem is that despite my numerous complaints and after 7 months of waiting, I still have nothing of everything.

Has anyone else ordered this accessory? Does it really exist?

Thank you

Julien

The link does not appear to work, and the picture is very small,
What is it we are looking at ??

It looks like a slip cover with pockets on the spare tire. An aftermarket accessory?

Except for the Reutter patch, it would be fairly easy to replicate.

Mike -- I'm guessing your upholstery guy could do this in leather or vinyl.

He certainly could, Ted. He's done a great job on the projects I've had him do.

FWIW, the website just worked for me. Here is the link:

Peter, I don't think the problem is the website. He paid for it and has heard nothing from Reutter.

I like a Hazet tourist tool kit there better.

Guido not delivering as promised isn't new to me, I got stiffed on a Karosserie Reutter Certificate of Produktion for my '64 C last year. Promises and then nothing, blamed on Deutche Post but no tracking number or follow up.

Seems I have read similar complaints in the past.

I've never seen nor heard of such an accessory. Does anybody have a listing in any 1960's catalog or in a price list?

Brad, I get the feeling it's an aftermarket item from Reutter; not a factory accessory.

I think this is not something from "the old days" but conjured up in "the present day" by the Reutter guy in Germany.
Something like a guy in Denver with a 356A Carrera in the 1960s with a tire cover made to display tools all lined up across the tire. He showed the car in PCA concours.

Remember that car Brad. Was here in NL at one time. No idea where it went.
