Replace, usually via a rebuild and conversion of its innards by one of the two VDO rebuilders.

Two businesses that I know work on the VDO gauges are Palo Alto Speedometer and North Hollywood Speedometer. I know there are others but I am not familiar with them.

although i agree with Harlan here goes:
1. 4-Cam 587/3 engine(12v electrics)
2. Annular disc brakes with alloy calipers
3. 901 5spd LSD
4. 901 rear suspension Bilstein shocks
5. GT seats/alloy panels, plexiglass/rollbar/bumper or guard delete/alloy wheels/904 combo instrument/stop watches full rally package.

2. Full flow filter and external oil cooler
3. C disc brakes with
4. 15x6 Fuchs
5. Vicโ€™s camber compensator and Whilhoit sway bar
