J West-4 speed (turbo) shifter

#1 Post by Jack Luomanen »

Has anyone tried to use a J West 911 early TURBO 4 speed sifter w/ our 741 gear box. I corresponded with them and they said, they thought ir would work, have to shorten shift rod and would lose the heater controls, thats ok , I don'thave boxes on my 1883, twin plug, EFI motor, Just want a better feel at the stick. I am spoiled by my '07 997 S that has the greatest feel.
Also open to suggestion for any other alternatives......

Hi Jack
the 997 has different synchros than 356 or early 911 depending what transmission you have you mioht be able to improve what you have. i am not a big fan of short shifters. i am in National city if you want to discuss.
