Busy two days, installed the wiring harness and started fitting all the refurbished electrical parts. Got the front lights, horn and about 3/4 of the dash components installed and wired. The headlight rubbers were a pita and I had a false start with the wiper switch before I figured out I had the wrong one (it wouldn’t fit as the dash hole was too small). I found the correct one and figured out the wires, strangely it was different from the diagram I have but it must be correct as the wiper assembly and harness are originals.

I’ve also been very careful to put in good earth cables for everything, that took some time but will eliminate any issues later.

I found the spring missing for the wiper motor if anyone has any ideas for a replacement. It’s the one for the motor brush arms.

Also, does the glove box lid cover just glue on, there are some tangs on the door but nothing on the new cover? Another crappy replacement part?

I’ve no idea why the pictures are rotated, they we taken in the same orientation and when opened are correct?

More painting, just needs color sanding.

Great work, I am sure the car will be smashing when done.

I like the idea of using 2k bedliner instead of Würth Stoneguard or SKS. Do you get much fog when spraying bedliner?

Thanks. No fogging with the bed liner and it was easy to spray. Just use a proper mask and make sure you have good coverage. If you miss a spot it’s easy to touch up later as well. I think the finish is really nice and it’s like like rock so does not chip.

Shredded my hands today but I did finally get the harness in the tunnel correctly and wired the rear lights etc. I didn’t get the starter cable in the same part of the tunnel but got it cable tied out of the way so it does not interfere with anything else. Had a tough time getting the main positive Cable though to the truck but did finally get it in.

Wired the turn signals and under the dash is finished. Will test it all tomorrow and give my hands a rest!!

Small progress.. the front Overider bars I have are bent so I will pick the best one and repair it.

I’ve been installing the insulation and painting it. After installing it in the engine bay and trying to bend it round the corners it will not stay in place. I’ve now cut it along the bends and it’s much better.

I also tried painting after it was glued in place and that was a mistake, it’s hard to get an even coat of paint on and so after the engine bay learning here’s the new process.

Trim and test fit each piece and spray it with two very light coats of paint. Once dry, glue that piece in and start with the next.

Here’s the other parts of the car and I’m much happier with them.

Also installed the rear bumper, it was a pain to get all the Overiders lined up and took several attempts.

Also got the car off the dolly and on axle stands so I can start to assemble the underside.

Looking good, lots of progress here!

Thanks. I have everything rebuilt and ready to go back on as I had plenty of time waiting for the body to be painted.

Just mounted the torsion bars. Used a digital level and got them within .1 degree which is 6 minutes so happily with that.

Here’s my shelf of rebuilt parts. My wife is actually sending me out into the garage to get it done..

I’ve been away and busy at work but have made some progress. The details seem to take ages and the plan was to have it done for the summer. That’s looking unlikely but maybe towards the end of the year.

All the electrics work so that’s progress as well.

Mark, the drums look really nice. Vapor blasted? Great progress, you are nearly there. What are the major things left todo?
