Martin, she drives great, tight as a drum.
Her steering is extremely stiff, but Andy says she will loosen with time.
She drives like she is glued to the road.

Martin, the steering does not return. Andy says once I drive it a while, it will lose up.

Front steering/front suspension is sorted and now returns straight and true. A few other tweaks and adjustments have added to her driving pleasure. A really tall fourth gear results in 100 MPH at 4200 RPM on the electric tac.
She feels like she is riding on rails, solid stance, really good footprint. Have put 200+ miles on her since picking her up.

This car has been such a joy, and you are correct, she came at just the right time.
I returned her to Andy Monday for Andy to tweak. She is back now and she drives every bit as sweet as she looks. The hood handle has been an exciting conversation. Once it is mounted, the decision is permanent.

My dream was to have the car restored to as new condition, and no expense was spared in the extensive restoration. But the vision was to build a car I actually could and would regularly drive, not just to club events and shows.

In keeping with that we added wider wheels (5.5” front, 6.0” rear) modern radial tires, and as much sound deadener as we could add (Fat Boy) without it being seen. Additional, the original engine is long gone, (she has 287,000+ miles) so we installed a 912 (better, more durable case but she looks stock) with the normal cam and big bore upgrade (estimated 115 HP), solex carburetors, kept the mechanical fuel pUmp but she is augmented with an electric pump connected to a button hidden under the dash for cold starts and possible mechanical pump failure, a tall fourth gear (confirmed 4,200 RPM AT 100 MPH). We added a modern but stock appearing radio and mount for a mini iPad that connects through one of two USB ports. We can remove the iPad and swivel the mount under the dash for an as stock appearance.
The Interior is a stock appearing black leather and original German wool style carpet as you would find in the most beautiful show car.
We removed the side trim, installed GT trim on the bumpers, removed the antenna, added fender-mounted mirrors and as you know have not mounted the hood handle. It will probably eventually be reinstalled, but not right away (the debate is actually fun and I am still recording votes for and against).
She is stunning and I intend to put another 100k miles on her. (I have already scheduled a dismantle and repaint in two years).
The three-year wait has been well worth the time and money. Andy is an excellent craftsman.
