Thanks Mike, got all the links, very appreciated.

I have purchased the 2 speakers from Woodys, they are confident that these speakers fit and work well with the original style radio.

They are 4 OHM speakers, I now need to get the correct speaker cables and the fuse holder.

In relation to part 7, I believe I am missing this, without this part would the chrome radio face plate not be as secure.

I've seen a couple of different types of backing plates (#7) and chrome surrounds (#9). Here are a couple of pics showing how they fit together.

I think I may be missing that piece with no ill effects.

I think a lot of radios are missing the backing plate with no ill effects. The chrome surround is a tight press fit.

In relation to part 2 on the above diagram, the Y hanger, as i will call it.

I dont think I have seen this hanger with the original rubber grommets still intact, part 4.

They clearly perish and fall off.

I was planning to use a little heat shrink on the hanger to stop the vibration of metal on metal, or maybe these are still available?

Can anyone offer any advice on this.

I just used some small grommets I got from Harbor Freight. Your local hardware store should have some.

Thanks Mike,

It would be great to see a hanger with the original grommets in place if anyone still has one, which of course is not fitted yet.

I checked my stash and unfortunately, none of the Y hangers have original grommets.

A pic posted some time ago by Sebastian Gaeta. You can see the grommets on the Y hanger.

How about using a couple of pieces of small vacuum hose?
Some days it's just not worth chewing through the restraints.....

Good suggestion, Wes.

I've used the grommets as they lock into the holes of the bracket under the dash for the Y bracket.

Mike, what years and models had the bracket with holes for the Y bracket.
