Window Winder Knob(s)

#1 Post by Keith Lee »

The Feb '53 coupe (50143) has a 54 drivers door and an original passenger door.

The goal is to have both window winders with the correct knobs

Dr. Johnsons book suggests (if I read it correctly) that the 50-53 window winders were the same as split Beetles.

All references I have found on line show split Beetle window winder knobs to look like this:

The passenger door winder - which I believe to be both original and correct, looks like this:
Winder 2.jpg
The drivers side winder, which I believe to be correct for 54 and later looks like this:
Winder 1.jpg

Would I be correct in assuming that the passengerdoor winder (second pic) is correct for this car?

Yes, the 2nd pic is the correct winder. Together with the 'crown" rear pop.out mechanisms

Water pumps are for windshield washers only.
