Google map says 46 miles and 50 min, Uniondale to Thornwood. The Whitestone is a pretty suspension bridge. How bad is that? I remember it as a nice if somewhat boring drive. The New London Ferrey from Orient Point was also a fun ride. The drive up to Riedelbauer should be pretty good.Sean O'Donnell wrote: ↑Wed Sep 11, 2024 11:15 pm Getting off the island has never been enjoyable. There is no secret route. Extremely busy roads that are in really bad condition.

Beautiful car! The most important checks would be the stering coupler and brakes. Those are vital to your life and limb. An engine related breakdown just means gatting a tow home, rarely thratening.
Enjoy the Catskill event! We can’t attend this year but have in the past. My regards to Cliff.

The drive wouldn't be bad if the roads weren't full of potholes and it wasn't busy. Unfortunately, it usually is busy.
