60' 356 Super Cabriolet VIN 152592

#1 Post by Michael P Busch »

All,

I have been gleaning the forum looking for specific direction on how to obtain the Kardex for my 356. I have been unsuccessful in finding it. Any help would be appreciated.

I have been told my car is not a Super model. The enhoine id is *84835 and the VIN is 152592. The engine ID matching the COA and Kardex. Can somep0ne help me verify please. Based on my research its a Super, but I can accept if its not. I want the know what I have :)

Michael, based on those numbers, the car was and perhaps still is a 1960 model 1600 Super Cabriolet.

You'll have to ask the person or people their reason for telling you that, and tell us their reasoning.
It certainly left the factory as a Super model, and the engine number is correct for a 1960 Super.

It's a super. If it were a T5 normal it would have a 6 digit engine number that starts with 60xxxx

The T5 supers still carried a 5 digit engine number and they all started with an 8, there was a short run of about 700 supers that started with '08xxxx' after they introduced some case upgrades and found out there were 1959 built cars running around with the same engine numbers!

The T5 super 90 all had a 6 digit number starting with 80xxxx
