Owners manual 1961-62

#1 Post by John Wurner »

Came across an owners manual dated 61-62.
I have seen lots of A B C manuals, is this one unusual?
Others do not seem to have the dates on the front cover.

I recall my friend Jesse Rodriquez (r.i.p.) had one like yours for his '62 Super 90 coupe.

Great stuff, John. What's the chassis number for the service book? Too bad I have a '63.

Same here, I have a 63 S Coupe, somewhat of a Barn find,
now near perfect.

Came with 62 Porsche 120323. I posted earlier to find the current owner but no such luck.

Very nice looking car, John. Mine is Karman-bodied #213532. Too bad the service book can't be reunited with the car (if it still exists).

True, the packet came with that car, and I have the tool kit, travel kit and shop and supplement manuals. I dont know what happened to the car, it was purchased at Ritterbach Porsche in Kaiserslautern, GY. I was stationed there in 62 and 63, some co-incidence.

John

There were at least 5 versions of the 356B English manual. They were: 1) Brown & Orange cover first published May 1959. 2) Black, gray and white lines with hubcap "Type 356B 1961/1962" first published January 1961. 3) Black , gray and white lines with hubcap "Type 356B 1962" first published January 1962. 4) Black, gray and white lines with hubcap "Type 356B" first published April 1962. 5) Gray hubcap and black lines with yellow band at right with "Driver's Manual Type 356B" first published January 1963. We don't have the 1961/1962 version on our website yet. It would be great if you would allow us to scan it for the website. If you are agreeable, please PM me at my Registry email address.
