All,
Since we are all talking about this 4 Cam here, i wanted to ask and hope it is OK in this thread.
I have in my possession two rear bumpers.
One looks like it is almost made of three parts. There is a line where the bumperette would sit next to with the holes through the bumper for them towards the right and left.
Then of course there are the two middle holes where the license plate lights sit.

My other bumper has no seams and is one continuous piece / all smooth and there are no holes where the bumperettes would sit next to. The only holes are for the lights in the top middle.

i thought maybe one of my bumpers was custom, but looking at this 4 cam now, my bumper is identical to how this guy has it set up. Was there a different Carrera bumper made out there or just a coincidence that mine and this one had custom work done? i tried to search if they sell a Carrera bumper to compare but i was unsuccessful.
Food for thought

Carrera GS/GT`s did not have Bumperettes (?) and I think that I am correct in saying that the bumper was a different Part number
Maybe you have a GT Bumper ?

Mike,
As far as A Carrera bumpers are concerned, there's no need for a different part number because the bumperette mounting hole is covered by the GT deco strip. There are two rear A bumpers, one with exhaust pipe cutouts in line with the bumperettes and those without. Probably different part numbers. I don't think the no cut out bumpers are specifically Carrera, however. When I removed the bumperettes and went to a "sport" exhaust on my Convertible D I had no difficulty finding a no cutout bumper at a swap meet. Maybe the same swap meet where I bought a Carrera engine for $250....

Harlan, I was specifically talking about GT Carreras not the GS versions

You are, of course correct about the front holes (they would be covered by they deco strip) however there are also holes in the Top of the Bumper

Having now looked it up (Jan 1960 Parts book - 6/1A) ----- `GT Bumpers Without Bore Holes for Overriders` are listed as 644 . 505 . 010 . 12 (so they appear to have a separate part number)
As I am missing Page 6/1which covers the Standard Bumpers, I cannot quote the number for a Standard Unit

Mike,
Thanks! When I enter this part number, 644.505 .010 .12. All I am finding is a solid bumper (so it seems) with no licence plate holes now.
Is there yet another one I should be searching for or on I'm the wrong place online?
