Stance looks "off". Front is too low or rear is too high. Rocker panels are not parallel with the ground and wheels/tires don't fit in the wheel wells correctly.

And the wheel well shapes look wrong, both front and rear. Was the car damaged or very rusty before the "repaint" mentioned in the ad?

Red car for comparison.

The replacement engine also probably kept the price down.

I noticed the Kardex says the replacement motor was P97004 - but there was no photo of the motor number so who knows what motor is in the car. And the car obviously lost its original 12 V gas heater so someone took a 6V one out of a pushrod car. Way too many things off on the car to draw good money.

I can't help but wonder why someone would try to sell a 4-cam on BaT. That alone nearly fills my skeptic tank.
Some days it's just not worth chewing through the restraints.....

It said the installed engine was 3 off from the original (not the replacement). I also don't believe the sunroof was on the Kardex. It had no options but that might be because it was a press car.

There seems to be a new category of 356s: Restored for Re-sale (RR).

That’s not new. Remember when all the 356s got painted resale red?

None of mine are red. But I see you are a resale red guy.

Mine had been black, but during my 25 year restoration, my wife chose Ruby Red. I very much miss the unoriginal black on black.

All,
Since we are all talking about this 4 Cam here, i wanted to ask and hope it is OK in this thread.
I have in my possession two rear bumpers.
One looks like it is almost made of three parts. There is a line where the bumperette would sit next to with the holes through the bumper for them towards the right and left.
Then of course there are the two middle holes where the license plate lights sit.

My other bumper has no seams and is one continuous piece / all smooth and there are no holes where the bumperettes would sit next to. The only holes are for the lights in the top middle.

i thought maybe one of my bumpers was custom, but looking at this 4 cam now, my bumper is identical to how this guy has it set up. Was there a different Carrera bumper made out there or just a coincidence that mine and this one had custom work done? i tried to search if they sell a Carrera bumper to compare but i was unsuccessful.

As far as I know all B and C rear bumpers are made that way, and pretty sure the C2 used the regular one too.

Martin,

you mean they are all made with the crease / line and the added holes?
the smooth on both this and mine you think is custom?

B/C bumpers were probably all made the same. But if one wanted to delete the bumperettes, it is not too hard to weld up the holes and smooth the surface. I suspect the factory may have done the same. I've seen a number of cars where only the top holes were smoothed over. The bottom holes are hard to see unless you are looking for them.
