Drove today on my new Heidenau tires. Much better than the 12 year old Dunlops. The tires feel larger and are very stable. I also bought some Race Ramps that help prevent flat spots. Thanks to Spencer Harris !! Car now with its original engine reunited after 43 years apart !! Looking forward to ECH this week !!

George,

Great to hear you like the tires!!! I’m a couple months away from getting my var back on the road to test them, but looking forward to it. Did you try a mix of roads and driving styles, sweepers, tight turns, freeway??

Thanks
Alex

Plan on the 5 - 16" sitting on a shelf, and the rebuilt split case transmission, shelf, 2 piece case motor, shelf.
6 @ 15" will be the drivers, Pro street VW super diff trans, early custom nosecone, trans extra strapped with a hot 912 motor.

My 53 with original floors patina ugly ride is really begging to lay some rubber down with a header for noise or with
the 45 degree stinger pipe pointing upward. Why ? The question is "Why not" ?

Loved my 64 SC 6volt sunroof in 1979. Lt yellow, primer left front, scratches. Drove it hard for 5 years, 200 rpms past redline
a lot, camping with my girlfriend with the back jammed up with a tent, cooler, sleeping bags, food, beer. Surfboard inside
sticking out the sunroof sometimes to the beach.

Then the big mistake at age 24. Months of prep, painted original ivory. The love was lost. Sold for $8500 in 1984.
At age 63 now looking back now that mistake won't be repeated. Reliving youth will be fun, big smile. Many of the
356 gang will look and wonder why ?
Why not ???
