Good morning!
I've secured a front wiring harness to replace existing setup, shown in pictures - goal is to restore to OEM and delete the relays mounted on plywood under front trunk. The wires / harness are new, in a nice sheath and will power headlights, turn signals, horn, parking lights and wires for for lights.
A couple questions before undertaking project:
1) Will I need to remove gas tank to run new wires from fusebox to front of car?
2) What kind of connectors will I need? From what I can see, I'll need the special bullet connectors shown in picture below (wire harness bullet connector).
3) Wondering if someone can identify this wire on passenger side of cabin - it's a large wire and not connected to anything - it is near the horn relay.
Thank You!
Ken

Hi Ken.
You don't need to pull the tank. The loom runs through next to the battery.
We can take a look at the connector issue. I'm sure I have some bullets laying around.
Since they put the other relays in, did they pull the headlight relay out? It should be somewhere near the horn relay. That may explain the spare wire. We can take a look this weekend if you like.
Cheers,
-Dave

I think most if not all of that harness connects under screws to the fuse box and won’t need bullet connectors. What brand harness? I think Stoddard has two sizes, make sure you get the right ones.
If the other harnesses are cobbled up I think Y n Z can sell you short lengths of correct wire for nice repairs

Sounds good. And I left out a word, Stoddard has two sizes of bullet ends to solder on. One is too small.

Here a front harness diagram for a 65C ( I think it should be "similar" to the one in your car), there you can see what type of connectors you will need.
The diagram is from an article that Greg Bryan wrote for the Registry´s Magazine.

As Martin Benade mentioned above, the correct wire end "bullet" is part number 999 652 102 10 silver color. The gold one, under number NLA 564 636 50, was produced for the French Marcal lights and will not work for Porsche wire connections.
