356 Turn Switch Repair

#1 Post by David Nicholls »

Dear Members

Would anyone be able to confirm that Doug Feistamel at www.type356a.com is still repairing Porsche 356 B/C/SC turn indicator switches ?
I have two that require his skills.
I realise that he’s a busy man and can’t take every inquiry.
I have sent emails and attempted phone contact without success.
I don’t want to ship two switches from Australia, and not get them returned.

Optimistically
Many Thanks
David

I hope he is, because his work is beautiful. He did one for me [edit] 3 years ago. There was a 6 month wait before I could sent it in.

How long ago did you reach out? In the context of a long wait time, perhaps he may not respond quickly.

Doug did my stalk switch last fall. I sent it to him in November or late October and got it back in December. He did a beautiful job but I have not spoken with him since so I don’t know what his current status is.

His site notes a price increase on orders effective June 1st 2023 so still alive and kicking. https://www.type356a.com/blinkerswitch.html

David,

My understanding is he doesn’t accept switches like that…he put me on a waiting list and then informed me to send it. Did others have that experience?

I spoke with Doug before sending him my switch, which is what I would recommend to others. I must have caught him at a good time as the turn around was pretty quick.

David, I've been in touch with Doug and he said he had a problem with your email. He asked that you email him at doug.feistamel@gmail.com.
