Turn signal lenses on 52's

#1 Post by Victor Ingram »

Does anyone know what is correct for a July build 52? regarding the correct kind of lens and bezels for the turn signals and brakes lights?
Did they have markings on the bezels? Were the lenses plastic or glass?
Were there markings on the lenses? SWF, HELLA etc
The car is a July build in 52
Jaimes I hope you can help me out, thanks in advance

Ignoring Gläser cabs and the first dozen or so Reutter cars, SWF always supplied Porsche with front turn signals. All had plastic lenses and chromed brass bezels.

The early ones were used through ~Nov 1952 and are pictured in Brett's book above at top right. They are pointy. and have radial flutes, unlike the concentric ridges on the subsequent "beehives".

These have been reproduced and the whole assembly is available from Karmann Konnection in the UK, though other vendors carry the lenses and bezels as well.

Pretty sure this the same info as in Brett's book.
