Wide 5 style wheel on a 64c with disc brakes

#1 Post by Jason Parolini »

I have a 1964c coupe with disc brakes. Is there a “wide five” style wheel that will work with disc brakes? I’ve been told that that style wheel typically only goes with drum brakes.

Thanks

the wide wheel 5x205 bolt pattern wheel will NEVER fit, but you can put 15x6 or 14x5.5 fuchs on your car

Personally think the 205 pcd look better. Anyone make an adapter / Spacer. George, Is that Your Car? Those Fuch Wheels look nice. We run with 5 1/2" 205 5 spoke EMPI Alloys on the B T5 Coupe but that obviously has Drums. But I must say that with the finned drums showing through, they match the alloy EMPI wheels. This of course required fitting the longer Studs. With 165 Vredestein Sprint Classic Tires, they Just Fit and seem to give a nice look Negative Camber. Handles great !
Just thought I would share this.

With those adapters you’d have to put it together and see if it all fit or if there was rubbing. There’s not a lot or rear tire clearance.

I thought this car was a “C” but maybe I am mistaken. This is the style steel wheel I am referring to as a “wide 5” that I would like put on my64c if possible.

Hi Jason
Yes they are the 205 steel wheels.
That looks like a T5 B Coupe in your pic.
And ref those nice looking 205 Adaptors that Darryl posted the link, As Martin suggested, there maybe fitting issues as there is even a caution in the adaptor product information regarding ' May fail Calipers etc ' which the Ç obviously has . You can only trial fit and see. 😁 All part of the fun !
Cheers Jay
