sunroof actuator switch & hood latch wanted

#1 Post by Kirby Klys »

Hello again. I hope to strike pay dirt again in my quest for originality, My 65c: I am trying to locate an original Bosch electric sunroof switch, plus the latch part for the front trunk (actuating lever with tab) for my car. Though I haven't called, I saw nothing in either Stodddard (my main source) and Pelican. I also Googled Autohause . I did see a post from a while back in the registry referencing the original vs a BMW switch, but with no other details. Thanks in advance if anyone has any info.

The C hood latch (upper part) is hard to come by. I haven't found any reproductions. The early 911 ones will work. The "finger tab" is just longer and could be cut to size.

Check the Samba for a switch. Reinhold Plank in Italy has one. Ad is also on this site in parts for sale.

You may also search Ford Mustangs & Squarebirds, Dodge and BMW. All had Golde sunroofs supplied by American Sunroof corp.

Paul, thanks for the info. I had considered welding a tab on mine, your idea sounds better. Tom (neighbor) I'll do some digging and see what I come up with. I need to take a good look at what I have. The switch I have works, and seems to fit the hole pretty good, but doesn't look like the one in my owner's manual, or the one I saw in an old post here. It showed one in a Bosch box, and stated that the BMW one looked the same but was bigger. Your car has a sunroof? (I think I see it in your pic) any chance you can send me a picture from under the dash? And if you really went over the top, or knew, size of the hole? I know that's huge and if not no worries. I'll look at Samba and try to get it from there.

I have a factory sunroof switch that I use to activate the electric fuel pump primer. This is how it looks in place. I have a BMW switch but it it us smaller than the factory opening. I can take a pic of it tomorrow.

Victor Miles has a switch in his display case. He may sell it unless committed to a restoration project. Call him (805) 570-3972

A much less expensive solution. A bracket could be fabricated to install it in the factory location.

Contacted seller for hood latch. Spoke with Victor. Noted switch avail on Pelican. weighing those options. Everyone's wealth of knowledge is to be commended! Thank you!

I just tried unsuccessfully to find the switch on pelican parts? If it's close, I tried several different search options. Also speaking of help, How does one place an attachment in a comment. I've not yet figured that one out.
