I carry my spare wheel inside out but it is annoying to have to remove it to access the valve to check pressure but I just found the solution.
8.5 inch flex extension. $9.00 on Amazon.
See pictures.

Spare tire orientation
If I had known I would live this long I would have pushed the envelope a little harder.

Re: Spare tire orientation
I use one on the spare in my Tacoma. It's stowed with the valve stem inaccessible. Why do you carry the spare inverted David?
Some days it's just not worth chewing through the restraints.....

Re: Spare tire orientation
Carrying it inverted gives me some extra accessible space for storage.

Except for one thing: the Hazet spare tile toolkit no longer fits.

Hah! That's OK though, by '64/'65 they were no longer used anyway and did not fit inside the C wheel no matter which way it was oriented.Dave Erickson wrote: ↑Fri Mar 10, 2023 11:20 pm Except for one thing: the Hazet spare tile toolkit no longer fits.

Re: Spare tire orientation
What happens if you ever have to use the spare? Won't that super long valve stem start whipping around like crazy?
Maybe you should add a fresh zip tie to the tool kit to lash the hose down through against one of the holes in the rim where you can see the brakes. (I dunno?)
*edit* Just looked up some similar parts online... seems it installs on top of your existing (short) valve stem... so I guess there is no issue then.
Best,
Brian
