Re: Early Reutter badges
This is a very rare, 1952-only badge. It straddles the time between split-window and bent-window cars, so around ~April 1952. I don't think it was used long.

I was keeping an eye on this question, as I was interested in the answer. That's a heck of a find!James Davies wrote: ↑Tue Dec 13, 2022 7:12 am This is a very rare, 1952-only badge. Kent, I'm not surprised.
Garry has a super collection of 356 and early 911 Porsche parts that he has collected over many years.
And he's a good guy too.

Re: Early Reutter badges
I have seen a period photo of it on 11451 invoiced in June 1952, though later cars sometimes have the earlier cloisonné version. It was not used on any 1953 models I have ever seen, which have the later straight painted aluminum badge.

Re: Early Reutter badges
Brett, yeah, I think they used this for a very short run of cars in mid-1952. By late 1952, they were back to using the cloisonné version. They briefly used a new aluminum version in ~Feb 1953, returned to the cloisonné again, and then finally permanently switched to the new aluminum version by Aug 1953.
FWIW have/had cloisonné version in 1952:
11433
11471
11572
11611
