Brett, I can see the remnants of a paper label on the right side, but can only make out a few numbers. Regarding your question on signal seeking, do you mean by pushing in on the tuning knob or on the far right FM button? If this radio had signal seeking capability it’s not active now.

If pushing the right side knob doesn't act as a switch, it is probably a Frankfurt. The label would give an indication of the age. At the far left is a letter as described before.

Agreed. My V code Koln has chrome push buttons which I thought all Koln models had.

Can you send/post a photo? I don't have any US spec. Köln photos.

It is possible to install the right hand knob on a Köln too deep on the shaft and the self seeker switch will not operate.

I tried John’s suggestion on my radio and there’s zero inward movement on the right hand knob. It’s not a Køln.

Brett:
I have had my Köln repaired a few times over the years. In 1978 the signal seeking feature was repaired and worked fine. About 10-12 years ago the power supply quit. When it came back the signal seeking feature no longer worked. I talked to the repair shop, and they said they no longer work on the signal seeker circuits any more.

Steve,

You might check with Ingo at Vintageblau.com to see if he fixes them.

I had a Köln in my $325 1958 cabriolet back in the mid 1970s. It had a LW band and you could press the button and it would happily seek the entire band without finding anything.

Very cool -- have never seen a Blaupunkt with the surround -- like a Becker. Is it on the Kardex/CoA and what is the invoice date? If you don't know, I can find out.

Also interested in the date code on the paper label (on the right side of the radio -- left on label) since it has white graphics. Is it a V or a W?

I have never seen that bracket used with a Blaupunkt radio. But if you had the bracket and liked the look, why not? I have, however, seen it used to cover up a hole that someone made in the dash to accommodate a larger radio.

Jack,

That is a Euro-spec. Frankfurt. The km speedometer indicates it is a non-US car. I can't tell if the lettering is white or green. Is there a paper label on the right side?
