Thanks Al, after the car (with the longitudinals fully replaced) left my shop it went across the driveway to Jack Staggs’ shop for mechanical sorting, the seatbelt mounting/anchors were addressed there.

Here’s a recent pic of the shop; first time I’ve had 2 356’s tilted on their side.

I always wondered why nobody did that type of work, at least the minor rust repairs or undercoat work, with the car assembled and on its side. It just seems logical.

What are you able to do like that?

It would be an unusual circumstance if you are aware of the costs to run a business. I own the building..so there is no rent only the Taxes. You cannot have a production machine shop in your basement! I will be glad to tell you stories about fixing Porsche's in your back yard. My neighbors pushed me into starting a business or!!! Nothing like flammable materials in your home (or building) the 356/912 is always there to provide that situation. al

Ken - Haha, thanks.
CJ - A bunch! Battery box, front diagonal, bulkhead, front frame struts, outer longitudinals, rear frame section, etc. Even more if the interior is partially removed (floors, inner longs, etc.) Not everyone can afford or wants to do a full restoration; some 356’s just need some repairs.
John - Yes.

Ken Tuvman: Ship your Car to TREVOR. The work will be outstanding! Both of you will agree on a plan! Trevor can carry it out without your continually stopping by to CHAT with him. (CHAT time needs to be paid for) You will find another shop(S) to do the mechanical (restoration) another for the interior and another for electrical systems. I think it will be difficult to find one shop to do all the work in less than a 3 year timespan. HURRY! before the parts run out.

In this me and Al agree, pay taxes, not rent. Also, if you really want to hoard, own the building and spend decades there, it's amazing what you don't throw away.

The 15,000 Sq Ft building which abuts the freeway should rent for $11. per sq foot plus taxes and insurance. Adam: like me I think you should look for a paying tenant. You may soon be the only one left! but that will not mean that you have cornered the market. We arrived her on Labor day 1978! There was no freeway even though one exists now the car move very slowly. al

Nope, I've been selling off real estate. Tenants are pains in the arse!
We are also against the freeway, once you get past the tracks...

You know what I hear when I hear the sound of traffic and the train? The sound of cheap real estate!

Also, if I rent out my building, what am I going to do, sit at home and count the money, no fun in that.

I know guys who would pay a premium for the sound of a train. Just not too close or too often.
