Heater Control Assembly for B T6
Apparently there is a magical bolt that captures the heater cable for the adjusting knob threaded shaft. My car had that removed before I purchased it. The part number is 695.424.717.00 and is apparently NLA. I've been hunting for a couple of days....
Anyone have a source? fabricated a new one? converted to a different heater control solution? Would love suggestions for a possible solution. Hit me up with ideas...
Thanks!!!

Number 15 should have a blob of weld on the end to prevent 16 (basically a nut) from coming off. You might be able to find 15 and 16 together used. The cable just is threaded through a hole in it.
I see the diagram shows a clip at the bottom, maybe the weld on mine is not factory.

I just checked eBay and the Samba but nothing there. Maybe one of our used parts vendors as the part.

Martin; weld not factory. Ralph; look around in the tunnel. It probably popped off when too much force was used to shut off the "heat".
If you don't find it, PM me and I can probably help.

Yes, the blob is to be the stop if the spring clip is missing. Fabing one wouldnt be too bad - my challenge would be getting it threaded since it's not a standard thread.Martin Benade wrote: ↑Wed Dec 07, 2022 9:40 pm Number 15 should have a blob of weld on the end to prevent 16 (basically a nut) from coming off. Great find! This is probably the solution - even at $125. It'll cost more than that to fabricate one...Phil Planck wrote: ↑Wed Dec 07, 2022 11:15 pm Not sure VW same. This guy has several on ebay around $150. This one seems to have broken shaft but nut looks okay

Re: Heater Control Assembly for B T6
Thanks Vic. I'm in Ga and the car came from California where someone decided they didn't need heat. Everything was removed from the knob to the flapper boxes. I'll double check the tunnel to make sure it's not lurking inside...Vic Skirmants wrote: ↑Thu Dec 08, 2022 8:36 am Martin; weld not factory. Ralph; look around in the tunnel. Are you also missing #15? Or just the "nut".
