FOG or DRIVING LIGHTS LOCATION
Dear members
I'm new on this forum. I follow the 356registry since almost 20years and thanks for your great contribution.
After few 911 (from 69 to GT3), I'm now a very happy owner of a 356 AT2 1959.This car requires some minor work to be done (like some dashboard electricity, seat belts , chrome recliner ...).
I have a question :
the car used to have front and rear bumper overriders. Now there are plugs and i would like to use these "holes" to add Marshal fog or driving lights. (see picture).
Is there someone who has done this ? if yes can you give more details how to do it (adapters, ..).
thanks a lot
jérôme

Re: FOG or DRIVING LIGHTS LOCATION
Do you want to make brackets poking out of these holes, or cut them much bigger to put the kind that are set partway into the panel?

Body mount fog lights are out there but very spendy, the holes are larger than the over rider holes. If you can find them they are 4-500 each.

Re: FOG or DRIVING LIGHTS LOCATION
The over rider holes are in the wrong place. I'd leave them alone, or replace the over riders. A big job involving the bumpers. ..................Jim.

Re: FOG or DRIVING LIGHTS LOCATION
I installed some Bosch fogs in the overrider holes. Easy, took 15 minutes. Did not hook them up at the time as the generator would not last with everything on.
Bought the lights at a swap meet for $30, i think they are VW.

Re: FOG or DRIVING LIGHTS LOCATION
Hey looks good Jules, I had some classic Cibie type fog lights for somethings different.
Sorry for the upside-down picture, just click on the picture

John i love this configuration but i think overriders holes are a bit higher ?
i have these fog lights and indeed they are very expensive.... (i think it was PRS356 website)

Indeed this is also a good solution. Do you think Marshal (smaller) are also feasible ?
in this configuration, do you have picture of the hole (to see details )
thanks a lot all for your answers that's helpful

Re: FOG or DRIVING LIGHTS LOCATION
I put them on the bumper. Reinforce the underside with 1/8" flat stock. ..............Jim.

Re: FOG or DRIVING LIGHTS LOCATION
That's what we did back in our rallying days Jim. Easier to fix holes in the bumper than in the bodywork.
Some days it's just not worth chewing through the restraints.....
