R.I.P. Jesse Rodriguez

#1 Post by Mike Wilson »

This morning, we lost yet another dedicated member of the 356 Community, Jesse Rodriguez. Another victim of cancer, Jesse fought valiantly through the numerous treatments until the end. He enjoyed buying and restoring 356's and were always done to a concours level. His Ruby red '59 sunroof coupe was his daily driver. Those who knew him knew of his passion for the 356 whether eagerly hunting for deals at swap meets or checking out cars at events. He will be greatly missed by his many friends and acquaintances. Services are pending.

Always enjoyed talking with him at the various vendors during the LA Lit meet weekend. He gave hugs to all his Typ356NE friends when we got together. His restorations were among the best and was the epitome of a daily 356 enthusiast !!

So sorry to hear about Jesse. When our group visited LA from the Northeast, we would always get together with him at the Lit. Show and the shop tours. Jesse was so generous with his time! RIP Jesse. Bob DiCorpo

I have fond memories of going with him to the Pomona swap meets. We had to be there at dark-30 and equipped with a flashlight, was hard to keep up with as he sought out deals on parts. The same was true at the Lit Shows. Early Bird for sure and once in the door was off like a rabbit. It seemed he knew and was known by many. He was iconic and my dear friend, will be sorely missed.

I was sad to hear that Jesse Rodriquez had passed. I was very fortunate to call him a friend. He was witty, knowledgeable and just great to be around. Our hobby has lost one of the good guys. May he Rest in Peace. I will miss him.
