Helped a guy put this 25hp motor in 51 VW pan and now he wants to turn it over. What cables and wires need to be hooked up to get it cranking? I have not looked at a wiring diagram and not sure if I would know what I am looking at anyway. He has ignition switch in a box some place? Don't want to fry a rebuilt early 6V starter.
Thanks in advance. Daryl SoCal

Just to crank it over, you just need to supply current to the terminal on the starter. On my test stand, I use a screwdriver; not fancy, but it works.
To get it running, a wire to the coil is needed.
