Re: Steering Wheel Showdown
Here’s my 1955 Nardi; there’s a catch though: Not for a Porsche.
Any guesses?

Re: Steering Wheel Showdown
Bill, I don’t have access to it now so I can’t answer that.
It’s from a 300SL Gullwing. Nardi seemed to have the market back then with Aston, Ferrari, Mercedes, etc. but they al seem to look generally alike.

Here's my '56:
If it was good enough for Porsche, who needs wood?
On other other hand, by '59:
420mm thin rim Nardi. (There's an excellent article by Jim Schrader, Reg V30 #2, on the flat A Nardi. Later on Nardi made a smaller diameter thick rim wheel, as did Classico Wheels.)

Re: Steering Wheel Showdown
Here’s mine with a Nandi and Cocomats. I’ve kept the original wheel.

Re: Steering Wheel Showdown
As regarding my #46 shot of my period Nardi ‘Thins In’, that wheel is stamped “Made 63 Italy” on the backside middle spoke and has eleven aluminum rivets seen also from the back only. It’s springy and thin which Craig and others have favorably commented. The rivets were only present on the early sixties versions but the rim diameter and thickness prevailed during most of the early T5/6 and 911/912 years along with the famous dual contact mushroom button.
As it happens, I have another equally attractive period example available to the discerning buyer, off line (850 259 9759)

Re: Steering Wheel Showdown
Wondering if this "Nardi" wheel is the real deal. Installed on our '55 Speedster.
Thank you.

Re: Steering Wheel Showdown
Do you Nardi drivers all agree that the car feels different with that wheel?

Re: Steering Wheel Showdown
I have a 15” Nardi wheel on my C cab - Nardi also made a 14” wheel which is too small in my opinion but if you’re a really big guy it may be just right.
I never liked the diameter of the original 356 wheel but it purely personal preference - I think it’s just too big - the 15” works for me, even with 5 1/2 inch wheels and 195 tires. I know some say you don’t enjoy the true 356 driving experience without the original steering wheel and tire size.
