Boxster Spoiler

#1 Post by Stephen Dempsey »

Hopefully someone who has a Boxster along with their 356 (like me) can help here.

I need to replace the relay(s) that control the up/down function on my spoiler. They are located on a relay panel in the rear trunk on the left side behind the carpet. In order to do this the panel must be slid out (per my Bentley service manual) to get access. I can’t figure out how to do this without doing something destructive!

Anybody done this? Thanks.

Steve

Stephen, I just Googled "Replacing Porsche Boxster spoiler relay" and found You Tube videos of the process.

Mike - thanks. I saw those as well, and couldn’t find one that was specific enough to demonstrate getting that panel out. On the other hand, maybe I didn’t look hard enough!

Thanks Jim. That video only shows where the panel is, not how to pull it out. The manual says to slide the panel out and drop it to the floor of the trunk. Plus, there are 2 relays, one for up and one for down.

Stephen, can you take pics of your car? Maybe there were changes year to year.

Thanks to everyone who offered suggestions on this. As it turns out, the Bentley manual was wrong.
The panel does slide out, but only after it is released from two plastic pieces on either side. Hard to describe.
