Dash has arrived.

#1 Post by Adam Wright »

Christmas came early! Nothing quite as elegant as a 550 Spyder dash.

What a beautiful recreation, a work of art. What else is he building for you?

Martin, that dash is several small sections welded together. Only a dedicated die punch would be able to produce that in one piece and even that might be a bridge too far.

I ended up getting a bunch of pieces I was missing from Bruce. He restored 0075 and a couple of other 550's so he has jigs built for almost every piece, really nice stuff.

I was thinking it would take beyond human skills to form that out of one piece but it is amazing what experts can do. I could probably form some of the flat portions pretty well.
