Re: Frequently Asked Questions
My email address is in my profile, but I still don't see (or others tell me) that the 'email' button isn't visible in my posts.
DOUBLE CLICK THE IMAGES TO MAKE THEM BIGGER If the 'email' button as circled above is NOT visible in your posts, follow the instructions below
Click on USER CONTROL PANEL in the upper right of the screen where you are seeing this message You'll be taken to a screen where on the far left hand side in the "margin" there is a choice of BOARD PREFERENCES - click there. You will see a display with a bunch of "radio" button choices in the middle right of the screen. The top line (USERS CAN CONTACT ME BY EMAIL) lets you pick yes or no for other users seeing your email. Click yes and you'll have an email button at the bottom of your posts
(Thank you Rosemary for the step-by-step) CLICK 'SUBMIT' TO SAVE YOUR PREFERENCES

Re: Frequently Asked Questions
I've never asked a question on the forum - what should I include to get a great answer?
Make sure you've added your location so people can refer you to local 356 resources (see above for step-by-step instructions)
Include the year and model of your car, such as '62 Roadster S90
Make your Subject Line specific - Write "Brakes Pull to the Left", not "Need Help"
Give some background to your problem - "Ever since I got my car back from the body shop, the turn signals don't work ... "
But by all means, ask! There are hundreds of experts looking at the forum.

Re: Frequently Asked Questions
How to Attach a Picture to My Post?
First, make sure you are in the 'Full Editor' view How to Post a Photo on 356Talk (by Barry Brisco)
When making a post on 356Talk, below the large white "Message body" text window and below the "Submit" button is the "Upload Attachment" area.
Click the "Browse" button to the right of the "Filename" box. Browse your computer's hard drive and select the photo file you want to post. After you select it, that file name will show in the "Filename" box. Click the 'Open' button.
(This can be the hard part - you must know the file location on your computer of the picture you want to post) Verify that you have the desired Filename and Click the "Add the file" button just below and to the right of "Browse". If you wish, enter a text caption for the photo in the "File comment" text box.
For any photo file you can select "Place inline", meaning it will insert the photo wherever you place the text entry cursor. You can "Preview" your post, with photo, by clicking "Preview", or click the "Submit" button to make the post.
If you "Preview" the picture and you're happy with the results, make sure you then click the "Submit" button to save.

Inserting an Avatar
The avatar is that little picture that accompanies members' profiles, as at the right side of this post.
Inserting an avatar has been greatly simplified in the latest version of phpBB.
Here are the simple steps.
Step 1: From the Main Page of the 356 Registry site, click on small down arrow next to your name on the right side of the masthead. (If you don't see your name, you are not signed in) Step 2: Click the 'Profile' choice in the drop-down menu Step 3: Next, click the 'Edit Profile' button Step 4: Then click the 'Browse' button at the bottom of the page Step 5: This will take you to this or a similar page on your computer - find then click on the picture you want to insert as your avatar and click the "Open' button on the bottom of the screen. This step may be different on your computer depending on the operating system and other factors.
Once you select the picture, you will return to the Edit Profile page on the 356 Registry site. Step 6: Verify that you have selected the picture you want as your avatar, click the "Update" button. Your Avatar should now show on your profile page and display on all of your posts in the 356Talk Forums
