Hand Throttle

#1 Post by Gregg Tracy »

Just wondered if the Hand Throttle cable can be replaced? Can the cable be removed from the knob? I didn't want to break anything so I thought I'd ask. Thanks for the help, Gregg

As far as I know you need to undo the cable at the other end where it is attached to the gas pedal. For this you will have to remove the carpet and legroom boards.

Yes, if the whole assembly is to be reconditioned you can take it apart after removal from the car. Please post again if that's your intent, but if you have a short wire and it extends below the sheath you can add a length of wire of the same diameter in various and creative ways.

I believe the topic has been posted in the past and archived, so a search may yield results.

Either way, Gregg, more info and details from you will generate better recommendations.

(Also, if you aren't aware, the small part with the two tiny set screws in Will's picture is a sliding stop for the range of the hand throttle, not a wire junction (union) connector.)
