A very experienced 356 Porsche mechanic was working on a complex engine rebuild project. He noticed that a long-time customer had walked into the shop. This customer was also a noted heart surgeon. The mechanic decided to ask the surgeon a question which had been perplexing him for some time: Hey doc, we both do essentially the same thing. We take a defective unit, open it up, correct defective valves, examine and repair internal chambers, clean it, bring it to specs and make sure it will operate correctly. Then we put it all back together. That being the case, why is it that you get paid so much more money for your work than I get paid for mine? The surgeon thought for a minute, then replied: all that is true. But you don't do your work while the engine is running, do you.
