Did You Know
That there are 73 yes 73 Container ships Stacking and Drifting off of California at the Weekend ?
To disrupt the supply chain!
No wonder you can't get the parts and everything else that we need !
All by design!

Re: Did You Know
Huge backlog the ships for several reasons. L.A. is one of the busiest harbors in the world right now and the crews are working like crazy to offload them.

Re: Did You Know
Actually the back log is because of the unprecedented amount of cargo container ships that are finally able to deliver goods from the supply chains but the sheer volume has inundated the warehouses. Remember every container, and there are literally millions of them, have to be offloaded, warehoused and then checked by customs. Trucks and trains are working 24/7 to clear goods out of the warehouses.
My guess is other large ports are in the same boat (pun intended!).

With the money longshoremen make, I don't think that's a problem...

Re: Did You Know
Although they had some issues up there a year or two ago, there's plenty of capacity up in Oakland, but the shippers would rather stay put. Old habits are hard to break. It will eventually get back to normal, but until it does, the conspiracy theorists are having a ball.
Some days it's just not worth chewing through the restraints.....

Re: Did You Know
The news was showing other ports that could be used like in Florida but my guess is the additional costs to relocate the ships to other ports plus the added expense of then shipping the containers isn't economical. Plus, if they need to use the Panama Canal, it could cost the larger ships $450K!
Definitely a shortage of trucks and drivers plus running out of room to park the containers. I saw a bunch parked on a city street yesterday.
