59 356 convertible D
Hello, my name is Shawn Kitchen. I own a small retsoration shop in Tulsa. I would like to share our experience with our customer and his 356.
It has been very busy (who isn't!), but I will try to keep this updated.
He brought it to us just having it "restored" by someone else, and took it home to assemble it, only to find major problems when doing so. He was so disgusted that he stripped it back down to bare metal, and brought to us in this condition. We have really developed a love for these cars during our time with this car and it's owner. It has been very busy (who isn't!), but I will try to keep this updated.

Re: 59 356 convertible D
This car had been hit in the right front, looks to have had a "3/4" used front put on it some time ago. The guy that did the repair did a very good job of aligning the panels, Although they idn't use the factory splice seams for their seams, chosing to go forward of the front seam on the Rh side and about 12-15"forward of the door/fender edge on the lh side. Their gas welds just weren't planished and metal worked like the factory did. There was alot of lead used all to cover these welds areas, not to mention around this car, covering multiple issues.

Nice work! Those look great . What was your process? Touch up welding and planishing? Hand planishing vs airhammer?
I’m in the midst of my repairs and I was considering leading my mig seams. But you got a lead free repair, inspiring!
