I am currently restoring an early jack. The early VW buses also had a similar jack but this is the real deal.
I believe the early bus jacks were a few inches taller and the lifting peg was horizontal.
This one is a little easier then the jacks that followed. It does not have to be taken apart
but there are still nooks and crannies to sand. Care has to be taken not to get overspray on the internal
screw mechanism. I have seen these jacks with the top (aluminum or pot metal) fully painted and I have seen
others left natural. It will be for sale in the classifieds upon completion.

Re: Pre-A screw type Jack
*following*
This jack was used from mid-1952, as it has the newer-style foot and slightly taller head flange. All these versions had painted heads.
